Product Description
1. General Introduction
AMI series are engineered modular induction motors, featuring high reliability and availability for heavy‑duty, demanding working conditions. Each unit can be custom‑configured to satisfy individual customer and application requirements. Built on a proven mature modular platform, the motors support flexible configuration to fit diverse tough operating scenarios and comply with relevant international standards.
The motors support both direct‑on‑line (DOL) start and variable speed drive (VSD) operation. The stator frame adopts welded steel construction. Standard available combinations of cooling system and protection class include IC01/IP24W, IC611/IP55 and IC81W/IP55. Shaft height ranges from 400 mm to 630 mm. Both horizontal and vertical mounting types are supported.
This datasheet mainly lists 50 Hz technical parameters; nevertheless the motors run at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz, with synchronous speed covering 500‑3600 rpm. The power scope covered by this catalogue reaches up to 8000 kW, while the full product range can go as high as 23000 kW.
2. Mounting Arrangements
Standard mounting forms for AMI motors are shown below; other mounting types are available upon customer request.
- IM B3 (IM 1001): Horizontal foot‑mounted
- IM V1 (IM 4011): Vertical flange‑mounted, free shaft end pointing downwards
3. Enclosure & Cooling Options
IC01 / IP24
Weather‑protected design with shaft‑driven internal cooling fan. Its airflow path restricts average air velocity below 3 m/s and contains more than three sharp turns over 90°, so heavy particles will settle down before entering live components. It reduces ingress of rain, snow and airborne debris, and offers protection against splashing water from all directions. Internal air circulation is asymmetric for IC01 version.
IC611 / IP55
Totally enclosed motor equipped with air‑to‑air heat exchanger. Shaft‑driven fans are installed inside and outside the frame for internal and external cooling circuits respectively. Protection against dust and omnidirectional splashing water.
IC81W / IP55
Totally enclosed unit fitted with air‑to‑water heat exchanger. Internal shaft‑mounted fan circulates air for inner cooling loop. Provides protection against dust and splashing water from any direction.
IC31 / IP55
Designed with inlet and outlet connections for remote cooling air supply; the top cover is omitted on the motor frame. Dust‑tight and resistant to splashing water from all directions.
4. Packaging
Export‑oriented standard seaworthy packing: plywood case or fumigated wooden case, suitable for long‑distance sea and land transportation.
5. Warranty Terms
Standard warranty: 12 months upon equipment commissioning, or 18 months after goods delivery, whichever occurs earlier. Extended warranty service is available; please contact our sales team for further information.
