Product Description

1. Product Overview: HXR 560 Rib Cooled Induction Motors

HXR series rib cooled induction motors adopt heavy-duty cast iron frame. It is a totally enclosed fan cooled motor with IC411 cooling system and IP55 protection class as standard. IC416 cooling and IP66 high protection rating are available as optional configurations.

HXR series motors cover rated power up to 2250 kW with 560 shaft height. Both horizontal and vertical mounting types are supported.
The technical data listed in this catalog is based on 50 Hz operation. The motor can run on 50 Hz and 60 Hz power supply, with synchronous speed between 500 rpm and 3600 rpm.

2. Mounting Arrangements

Standard mounting configurations for HXR motors

• IM B3 (IM 1001): Horizontal foot mounted, feet downward
• IM V1 (IM 3011): Vertical flange mounted, flange and free shaft end downward

3. Enclosure and Cooling

Standard Configuration: IC411 / IP55

HXR motors are fitted with a shaft-mounted external fan, utilizing ambient air for heat dissipation.
The motor can resist dust ingress and water jet spray. Working principle is shown in diagram 27.

Optional Configuration: IC416 / IP55

IC416 cooling option is available for HXR motors.
A separate auxiliary motor drives the cooling fan to deliver sufficient cooling capacity for low-speed applications, especially for variable frequency drive operation.

IP55 Protection

• Dust protection: Limited dust may enter the enclosure but will not affect normal motor operation.
• Water protection: Water jets sprayed from any direction will not cause damage to the motor.

IP66 Protection (Optional)

• Dust protection: Fully dust-tight enclosure.
• Water protection: Resists powerful water jets from any direction via 12.5 mm nozzle without harmful impact.

IC411 Cooling Principle

• Frame surface cooling: Heat is transferred through the motor frame surface besides heat conduction via stator core and other conductive components to surrounding ambient medium. The ribbed frame enhances heat exchange performance.
• Self-circulation cooling: Coolant flow is driven by motor rotation. Driving force comes from rotor, rotor-mounted fan or pump assembly coupled directly to main motor rotor.

Fumigated wooden case or plywood case
Suitable for long-distance sea and land transportation.

5. Warranty

Standard warranty: 12 months after commissioning or 18 months after delivery, whichever comes first.
