Product Description

1. Product Overview – HXR 560 Rib Cooled Induction Motor

HXR rib cooled induction motors adopt heavy-duty cast iron frames. These totally enclosed fan-cooled motors come with IC411 cooling system and IP55 protection as standard configuration. IC416 cooling and IP66 high protection grade are optional for selection.

HXR series motors reach rated power up to 2,250 kW with shaft height 560 mm. Both horizontal and vertical mounting forms are supported.
This catalog lists technical data based on 50 Hz operation. However, the motor can run on both 50 Hz and 60 Hz power supply, delivering synchronous speed ranging from 500 rpm to 3600 rpm.

2. Mounting Arrangements

IM B3 (Code I: IM B3, Code II: IM 1001)
Standard floor mounting, feet downward for horizontal foot-mounted installation.

IM V1 (Code I: IM V1, Code II: IM 3011)
Flange-mounted type, flange and free shaft end facing downwards for vertical solid shaft installation.

3. Enclosure & Cooling System

Standard Configuration: IC411 / IP55

HXR motors are fitted with a shaft-mounted external fan, which draws ambient air for cooling.
IP55 enclosure protects the motor against dust ingress and water jets.

• Dust protection: Limited dust may enter the housing, but the accumulated dust will not interfere with normal motor operation.
• Water jet protection: Water jets sprayed from any direction will not cause damage to the motor.

Optional Configuration: IC416 / IP55

IC416 cooling system uses an independent auxiliary motor to drive the cooling fan. This design ensures effective cooling for low-speed applications, especially when the motor is driven by variable frequency drives.

Optional IP66 Protection Grade

IP66 fully dust-tight enclosure:

• Dust protection: Complete sealing against dust penetration.
• Water jet protection: Powerful water jets from 12.5 mm nozzle in any direction will not harm the motor.

IC411 Cooling Principle

• Frame surface cooling: Heat is transferred through the motor frame ribbed surface to surrounding ambient air. Heat transfer also occurs via stator core and other thermally conductive components. The ribbed frame optimizes heat dissipation.
• Self-circulation cooling: Cooling airflow is driven by the main motor rotation. Power comes from rotor-mounted fan assembly mechanically coupled to the main motor rotor.

4. Packaging

Export standard seaworthy packaging, available in plywood case or fumigated wooden case.
Suitable for long-distance sea and land transportation.

5. Warranty Terms

Standard warranty: 12 months from commissioning date OR 18 months after delivery date, whichever occurs first.
