1. Product Overview

Rib Cooled Motors HXR 560 Series
HXR rib cooled motors adopt heavy-duty cast iron frame and feature totally enclosed fan cooled structure. IC411 cooling and IP55 protection are supplied as standard configuration, while IC416 cooling system and IP66 protection grade are available as optional selections.

The HXR motor series reaches maximum output power of 2,250 kW with 560mm shaft height. Both horizontal and vertical mounting types are supported.
The technical data listed in this catalog is based on 50Hz condition. The motors can run under 50Hz and 60Hz power supply, with synchronous speed ranging from 500 rpm to 3600 rpm.

2. Mounting Arrangements

Standard mounting options for HXR motors

• Code I: IM B3, Code II: IM 1001
  Standard floor mounting, feet downwards (horizontal foot mounted)
• Code I: IM V1, Code II: IM 3011
  Flange mounted with free shaft end facing downwards (vertical solid shaft flange mounting)

3. Enclosure and Cooling

Standard Configuration: IC411 / IP55

HXR motors are fitted with shaft-mounted external fan, which utilizes ambient air for heat dissipation. The motor enclosure provides protection against dust ingress and water jets. The working principle is shown in diagram 27.

Optional Configuration: IC416 / IP55

IC416 cooling version is available for HXR motors. A separate auxiliary motor drives the cooling fan to deliver sufficient cooling capacity for low-speed working scenarios, especially when the motor is driven by variable speed drives.

IP55 Protection

• Dust protection: Limited dust may enter the housing, but the dust volume will not interfere with normal motor operation.
• Water jet protection: Water sprayed from nozzles in any direction will not cause damage to the motor.

IP66 Protection

HXR series can be configured up to IP66 protection grade

• Dust protection: Enclosure is fully dust tight.
• Water jet protection: Powerful water jets from 12.5mm nozzle hitting the motor from any direction will not lead to damage.

IC411 Cooling Principle

• Frame surface cooling: Internal coolant circulates in closed loop. Heat transfers through stator core and conductive components to the motor outer ribbed surface, then dissipates to surrounding air. The frame surface can be plain or ribbed, with or without outer shell to enhance heat exchange efficiency.
• Self-circulation: Coolant flow relies on main motor rotation. It can be driven by rotor, rotor-mounted components, fan or pump mechanically coupled to the main motor.

5. Warranty Period

Standard warranty term: 12 months after commissioning or 18 months after delivery, whichever comes first.
