1. Product Description
Modular induction motors, type AMI, are engineered to provide high reliability and availability in the toughest and most demanding applications.
Built on the motor industry's most successful modular platform, AMI motors are tailor-made to meet the specific needs of each customer and application. They offer the flexibility to be adapted to highly specific configurations while matching a broad variety of demanding requirements.

- Available for both Direct-On-Line (DOL) and Variable Speed Drive (VSD) operation.
- Features a robust welded steel frame.
- Standard shaft heights range from 400 to 630 mm.
- Can be mounted horizontally or vertically.

- Note: While this catalog shows technical data at 50 Hz, these motors operate at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz, with synchronous speeds from 500 to 3600 rpm. Output powers covered in this catalog are up to 8,000 kW, while the complete range extends up to 23,000 kW.
2. Mounting Arrangements
Standard mounting arrangements for AMI motors (other mountings available on request):
- Code I: IM B3 / Code II: IM 1001: Horizontal foot mounted.
- Code I: IM V1 / Code II: IM 4011: Vertical flange mounted (free shaft end facing downwards).
3. Enclosure and Cooling
IC01 / IP24 (Weather Protected)
This design features a shaft-mounted cooling fan inside the housing. The motor structure minimizes the ingress of rain, snow, and airborne particles into the electrical components. The air intake path ensures an average velocity not exceeding 3 m/s, allowing heavier particles to settle. It includes three acute direction changes (>90 degrees) to optimize the flow rate. Protects against splashing water from any direction.
IC611 / IP55 (Air-to-Air Cooled)
A fully enclosed design featuring an air-to-air heat exchanger mounted on the motor. Shaft-mounted fans are fitted both inside and outside the casing to supply the respective cooling circuits. Protects against dust and splashing water from any direction.
IC81W / IP55 (Air-to-Water Cooled)
A fully enclosed motor fitted with an air-to-water heat exchanger. An internal shaft-mounted fan supplies the internal cooling circuit. Protects against dust and splashing water from any direction.
IC31 / IP55 (Remote Cooling)
Fitted with inlet and outlet pipes to utilize remote cooling air. Essentially, this is the AMI motor frame without an upper cover. Protects against dust and splashing water from any direction.
IC01 (Asymmetric Circulation)
Features an asymmetric inside air circulation design.
4. Packaging

5. Warranty Period
- Standard Warranty: 12 months after commissioning, or 18 months after delivery, whichever comes first.
