AMI engineered modular induction motors are designed to provide exceptional reliability and availability in the most demanding and toughest industrial applications. Built upon the motor industry's most successful modular platform, these motors are tailor-made to meet specific customer needs. They offer the flexibility to be adapted to highly specific configurations while matching a broad variety of rigorous application requirements.

Compliant with all relevant international standards, AMI modular induction motors are available for both direct-on-line (DOL) and variable speed drive (VSD) operations. Featuring a robust welded steel frame, they are offered in standard shaft heights ranging from 400 to 630 mm and can be mounted horizontally or vertically. While standard catalogs often list data at 50 Hz, these motors operate efficiently at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz, delivering synchronous speeds from 500 to 3600 rpm. The current catalog covers output powers up to 8,000 kW, with the complete range extending up to 23,000 kW.

Mounting Arrangements

Standard mounting configurations ensure versatile installation options:

• IM B3 (Code II: IM 1001): Horizontal foot-mounted.
• IM V1 (Code II: IM 4011): Vertical flange-mounted (free shaft end facing downwards).

Enclosure and Cooling Systems

AMI motors offer multiple cooling and protection configurations to suit diverse environments:

• IC01 / IP24 (Weather Protected): Features a shaft-mounted cooling fan inside the housing. The air intake path is engineered with three acute direction changes (exceeding 90 degrees) and maintains an average velocity below 3 m/s, allowing heavier airborne particles to settle. This design effectively protects against rain, snow, and splashing water from any direction.
• IC611 / IP55 (Air-to-Air Heat Exchanger): A fully enclosed design utilizing an air-to-air heat exchanger. It employs shaft-mounted fans both inside and outside the casing to supply separate cooling circuits, providing complete protection against dust and splashing water.
• IC81W / IP55 (Air-to-Water Heat Exchanger): A fully enclosed motor equipped with an air-to-water heat exchanger. An internal shaft-mounted fan supplies the internal cooling circuit, ensuring robust protection against dust and splashing water.
• IC31 / IP55 (Remote Cooling Air): Fitted with inlet and outlet pipes for remote cooling air. This version essentially consists of the AMI motor frame without an upper cover, maintaining IP55 protection against dust and splashing water.
• IC01 (Asymmetric Circulation): Features IC01 cooling with an asymmetric inside air circulation design for optimized thermal management.

Packaging and Logistics

All motors are packed in standard seaworthy export packaging, utilizing either plywood or wooden fumigation packages. These robust packages are specifically designed to withstand long-distance transportation via sea or land, ensuring the equipment arrives in perfect condition.

Warranty Policy

• Standard Coverage: 12 months after commissioning, or 18 months after delivery, whichever occurs first.
