Product Description

AMI engineered modular induction motors deliver high reliability and availability for the most demanding operating conditions. Custom‑built to satisfy individual customer and application requirements, the motor is developed on a proven modular platform. It fulfills diverse demanding application needs and allows flexible custom configurations, complying with relevant international standards.

The motor supports both direct‑on‑line (DOL) and variable speed drive (VSD) operation. It features a welded steel frame. Standard combinations of cooling system and protection class include IC01 / IP24W, IC611 / IP55 and IC81W / IP55. Standard shaft heights range from 400 mm to 630 mm. Both horizontal and vertical mounting are available.

Technical data shown in this catalogue is based on 50 Hz operation, while the motor can run at 50 Hz or 60 Hz with synchronous speeds from 500 rpm to 3600 rpm. The power range covered by this catalogue reaches up to 8 000 kW; the full product portfolio extends to 23 000 kW.

Mounting Arrangements

Two standard mounting types are offered for AMI motors. Other mounting forms are available upon request.

  • IM B3 (IM 1001): Horizontal foot‑mounted
  • IM V1 (IM 4011): Vertical flange‑mounted, free shaft end pointing downwards

Enclosure and Cooling Options

IC01 / IP24
This weather‑protected motor is fitted with a shaft‑driven internal cooling fan. Its structural design limits ingress of rain, snow and airborne particles into electrical components. Air inlet velocity is kept below 3 m/s so heavy particles can settle. The air intake path includes three sharp direction changes over 90°, optimizing airflow rate. The motor is protected against splashing water from all directions. IC01 adopts asymmetric internal air circulation.

IC611 / IP55
This fully‑enclosed unit is equipped with an air‑to‑air heat exchanger. Shaft‑mounted fans are installed inside and outside the housing for internal and external cooling circuits respectively. It provides protection against dust and omnidirectional splashing water.

IC81W / IP55
The fully‑enclosed motor is fitted with an air‑to‑water heat exchanger. A shaft‑driven internal fan maintains the inner cooling circuit. It is dust‑proof and resistant to splashing water from all directions.

IC31 / IP55
Inlet and outlet pipes are provided for remote cooling air supply. This version is based on the AMI motor frame without top cover. It is protected against dust and splashing water from all directions.

Packaging

Export‑oriented standard seaworthy packing is adopted. Plywood cases or fumigated wooden cases are optional, suitable for long‑distance sea and land transportation.

Warranty

Standard warranty: 12 months after commissioning or 18 months after delivery, whichever occurs first. Extended warranty service is available; please contact us for further information.
