The AMI engineered modular induction motors are specifically designed to provide exceptional reliability and availability in the toughest and most demanding industrial applications. Built upon the motor industry's most successful modular platform, these tailor-made motors offer the flexibility to be adapted to highly specific configurations while meeting a broad variety of rigorous application requirements. Complying with all relevant international standards, AMI modular induction motors are available for both direct-on-line (DOL) and variable speed drive (VSD) operation.

Technical Specifications & Design
AMI modular induction motors feature a robust welded steel frame and are available with standard shaft heights ranging from 400 to 630 mm. They support both horizontal and vertical mounting. While standard catalogs typically highlight 50 Hz technical data, these motors are fully capable of operating at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz, delivering synchronous speeds from 500 to 3600 rpm. The output powers covered in standard catalogs reach up to 8,000 kW, with the complete range extending up to 23,000 kW.

Mounting Arrangements

Standard mounting arrangements for AMI motors include:

• Code I: IM B3 / Code II: IM 1001: Horizontal foot mounted.
• Code I: IM V1 / Code II: IM 4011: Vertical flange mounted (free shaft end facing downwards).

Enclosure and Cooling Systems

AMI motors are available with multiple standard cooling methods and protection types:

• IC01 / IP24 (Weather Protected): Features a shaft-mounted cooling fan inside the housing. The design reduces the ingress of rain, snow, and airborne particles by ensuring the average air intake velocity does not exceed 3 m/s, allowing heavier particles to settle. The air intake path includes three acute direction changes (exceeding 90 degrees) to optimize flow rate. Protects against splashing water from any direction.
• IC611 / IP55 (Air-to-Air Heat Exchanger): A fully enclosed design with an air-to-air heat exchanger mounted on the motor. Shaft-mounted fans are fitted both inside and outside the casing to supply separate cooling circuits. Protects against dust and splashing water from any direction.
• IC81W / IP55 (Air-to-Water Heat Exchanger): A fully enclosed motor fitted with an air-to-water heat exchanger and an internal shaft-mounted fan for the internal cooling circuit. Protects against dust and splashing water from any direction.
• IC31 / IP55 (Remote Cooling Air): Fitted with inlet and outlet pipes to utilize remote cooling air. Essentially consists of the AMI motor frame without an upper cover. Protects against dust and splashing water from any direction.
• IC01 (Asymmetric Circulation): Features IC01 with asymmetric inside air circulation.

Packaging & Logistics

To ensure safe transit, all motors are shipped in standard seaworthy packages suitable for long-distance transportation by sea or land. Packaging options include plywood packages or wooden fumigation packages for export.

Warranty Period

• Standard Warranty: 12 months after commissioning, or 18 months after delivery, whichever comes first.
