Product Description
1. AXR Series Rib Cooled Motors
The AXR series represents the latest generation of versatile rib-cooled motors, delivering high power density, flexible configuration and easy maintenance. Designed with decades of electric motor manufacturing expertise, this series sets a new industry benchmark, achieving higher power output per kilogram than traditional rib-cooled motors.
Thanks to its high power density, you can often select an AXR motor with one smaller frame size for the same power requirement compared with conventional alternatives. This saves installation space and enables more compact system layout.
AXR motors conform to major industrial standards including API 541 and Shell DEP, and can be customized to meet special customer requirements. Built with heavy-duty cast iron frames, AXR motors come standard with rib cooling IC411 and IP55 protection. IC416 cooling and optional IP66 protection are also available; the IP66 rating has been validated by an independent authoritative testing institute.
The AXR series covers power ratings up to 1800 kW, with shaft heights ranging from 315 mm to 710 mm. Both horizontal and vertical mounting types are supported. This catalog includes technical parameters under 50Hz / 60Hz, for synchronous speeds from 500 rpm to 3600 rpm.
2. Mounting Arrangements
AXR motors support multiple standard mounting configurations:
- IM B3 (IM 1001): Horizontal foot-mounted, feet downward, standard floor installation
- IM V1 (IM 4011): Vertical flange-mounted, flange and free shaft end facing down, solid shaft design
- IM B35 (IM 2001): Combined foot-and-flange horizontal mounting. End shield integrated flange, single cylindrical shaft extension with feet downward
3. Enclosure & Cooling System
IC411 / IP55
Equipped with a shaft-mounted external fan, it draws ambient air for heat dissipation. IP55 provides protection against dust ingress and water jets from all directions. Small amounts of dust may enter the enclosure but will not impair motor operation.
IC416 / IP55
IC416 cooling configuration adopts an independently driven cooling fan. It guarantees sufficient cooling airflow at low operating speeds, ideal for variable frequency drive applications.
IP66 Protection (Optional)
Fully dust-tight enclosure. Powerful water jets (12.5mm nozzle) from any direction will not cause damage to the motor.
IC411 Cooling Principle
Frame surface cooling: Heat generated inside the motor transfers through stator core and conductive components to the ribbed frame surface, then dissipates into surrounding air.
Self-circulation cooling: Cooling airflow is driven by the main motor rotor or rotor-mounted fan, rotating synchronously with motor speed.
4. Packaging
Export standard seaworthy packaging. Options include plywood case or fumigated wooden case, suitable for long-distance sea and land transportation.
5. Warranty Period
Standard warranty: 12 months from commissioning date OR 18 months after delivery date, whichever comes first. Extended warranty service is available upon request, please contact us for details.
