Product Description

AMI engineered modular induction motors are built on the motor industry's most successful modular platform, providing reliability and availability in the most demanding applications. They are tailor-made to meet the needs of each customer and application, matching a broad variety of requirements while offering the flexibility to be adapted to highly specific configurations.

The motors support both direct-on-line (DOL) and variable speed drive (VSD) operation, and comply with all relevant international standards.

Technical data in this catalog is shown for 50Hz only; however, these motors operate at both 50Hz and 60Hz, with synchronous speeds ranging from 500 to 3,600 rpm. Output powers covered in this catalog go up to 8,000 kW, while the complete range extends to 23,000 kW.


Mounting Arrangements

  • IMB3 (IM 1001): Horizontal foot mounted
  • IMV1 (IM 4011): Vertical flange mounted (free shaft end facing downwards)
  • Other mounting arrangements available on request


Enclosure & Cooling Methods

  • IC01 / IP24: Weather-protected motor with a shaft-mounted cooling fan inside the housing. The air intake design ensures average air velocity does not exceed 3 m/s, allowing heavier particles to settle. The intake path includes three acute direction changes exceeding 90° to further reduce flow rate. Protected against splashing water from any direction.
  • IC611 / IP55: Fully enclosed design with an air-to-air heat exchanger mounted on the motor. Shaft-mounted fans are fitted both inside and outside the casing to supply the internal and external cooling circuits respectively. Protected against dust and splashing water from any direction.
  • IC81W / IP55: Fully enclosed motor fitted with an air-to-water heat exchanger. A shaft-mounted fan is fitted inside the casing to supply the internal cooling circuit. Protected against dust and splashing water from any direction.
  • IC31 / IP55: Fitted with inlet and outlet pipes for remote cooling air. Essentially the AMI motor frame without an upper cover. Protected against dust and splashing water from any direction.
