1. Overview of AMI Modular Induction Motors
The AMI engineered modular induction motors are designed to deliver exceptional reliability and availability, even in the most demanding and rigorous industrial applications. Built upon the industry's most successful modular platform, these tailor-made motors offer the flexibility to adapt to highly specific configurations while meeting a broad variety of application requirements. Complying with all relevant international standards, AMI motors are available for both direct-on-line (DOL) and variable speed drive (VSD) operations.

Featuring a robust welded steel frame, the standard shaft heights range from 400 to 630 mm, and the motors can be mounted either horizontally or vertically. While standard catalogs often highlight 50 Hz technical data, these motors are fully capable of operating at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz, delivering synchronous speeds from 500 to 3600 rpm. The output powers covered in this series reach up to 8,000 kW, with the complete range extending up to an impressive 23,000 kW.

2. Mounting Arrangements
AMI motors come with standard mounting configurations, though customized options are available upon request:

• IM B3 (Code II: IM 1001): Horizontal foot-mounted.
• IM V1 (Code II: IM 4011): Vertical flange-mounted (with the free shaft end facing downwards).
• 3. Enclosure and Cooling Systems
  The AMI series offers versatile cooling and protection standards to suit diverse environmental conditions:
• IC01 / IP24W (Weather Protected): Features a shaft-mounted cooling fan inside the housing. The air intake path is engineered with three acute direction changes (exceeding 90 degrees) and maintains an average velocity below 3 m/s. This design effectively settles heavier particles and protects against rain, snow, airborne particles, and splashing water from any direction.
• IC611 / IP55 (Air-to-Air Heat Exchanger): A fully enclosed design utilizing an air-to-air heat exchanger. Shaft-mounted fans are installed both inside and outside the casing to manage separate cooling circuits, providing complete protection against dust and splashing water.
• IC81W / IP55 (Air-to-Water Heat Exchanger): A fully enclosed motor equipped with an air-to-water heat exchanger and an internal shaft-mounted fan for the internal cooling circuit, ensuring optimal protection against dust and water ingress.
• IC31 / IP55 (Remote Cooling Air): Fitted with inlet and outlet pipes to utilize remote cooling air. This configuration essentially consists of the AMI motor frame without an upper cover, maintaining full protection against dust and splashing water.
• IC01 (Asymmetric Circulation): Features an asymmetric inside air circulation design for specialized cooling needs.
• 4. Packaging
  All units are shipped in standard seaworthy packaging suitable for long-distance transportation by sea or land. Options include plywood packages or wooden fumigation packages to ensure safe transit.
• 5. Warranty Period
• Standard Coverage: 12 months after commissioning, or 18 months after delivery, whichever comes first.
