The AXR series is a new generation of multipurpose rib-cooled high voltage induction motors, designed with high power density, flexible configurability, and built-in serviceability. Built on decades of electric motor manufacturing experience, these motors set a new industry benchmark for watts-per-kilogram output. Their high power density means that for a given output, you can often select a motor one frame size smaller than conventional products, saving installation space and enabling more compact layouts.
The AXR series features a rugged cast iron frame, and is compliant with major industry standards including API 541 and Shell DEP, as well as custom customer specifications. It covers outputs up to 1,800 kW, with shaft heights from 315 to 500 mm, and supports both horizontal and vertical mounting.

Mounting Arrangements
- IM B3 (Code II: IM 1001): Standard floor mounting, feet facing downwards, horizontal foot-mounted.
- IM V1 (Code II: IM 4011): Flange-mounted with free shaft end facing downwards, vertical solid shaft.
- IM B35 (Code II: IM 2001): Foot-and-flange mounted horizontal configuration, with the flange integrated into the end-shield, one cylindrical shaft extension, and feet facing downwards.
Enclosure & Cooling
Standard Configuration: IC411 / IP55
AXR motors are equipped with an external shaft-mounted fan that uses ambient air for cooling. The IP55 enclosure provides:
- Dust protection: Limited dust ingress is permitted, but not in quantities sufficient to interfere with motor operation.
- Water jet protection: Water projected by a nozzle from any direction has no harmful effect.
- Optional Configurations
- IC416 Cooling: An additional motor-driven cooling fan provides consistent cooling for low-speed applications, especially when the motor is powered by a variable speed drive (VSD).
- IP66 Protection: Verified by a leading independent testing organization, the IP66 enclosure offers:
- IC411 Cooling Principle
- Frame surface cooling: Primary coolant circulates in a closed internal circuit, transferring heat through the external ribbed surface of the motor (and via the stator core and other heat-conducting parts) to the surrounding ambient air.
- Self-circulation: Coolant movement is driven by the rotational speed of the main motor, via a fan component mounted directly on the rotor.
Packaging
Standard seaworthy export packaging, available in plywood cases or fumigated wooden crates, suitable for long-distance sea and land transportation.
Warranty
Standard warranty is 12 months after commissioning, or 18 months after delivery, whichever occurs first. Extended warranty options are available upon request.
