Asynchronous 3 Phase Motor | Y Series Squirrel Cage Induction Motor

The asynchronous 3‑phase motor is a high‑power, high‑efficiency electrical drive solution built for diverse industrial and commercial deployments. Also referred to as three‑phase induction motors, these units are widely deployed in machinery that demands steady, dependable and smooth running performance.

The Y‑series asynchronous 3‑phase motor is engineered and developed with modern‑day technical solutions. It features a fully‑enclosed construction with external fan cooling and a squirrel‑cage rotor layout. Boasting contemporary styling and an attractive profile, this motor delivers low‑noise operation, high energy efficiency, ample output torque and superior starting capability. Its compact overall structure simplifies routine operation and maintenance. F‑class insulation is adopted, with electrical layouts designed against international insulation standards, greatly lifting overall motor operational safety and reliability.

Fabricated from premium raw materials including heavy‑duty cast housings and pure‑copper winding components, asynchronous 3‑phase motors deliver extended service lifespans. Optimized for energy‑saving performance, they cut power consumption without compromising output capacity.

Beyond rigid mechanical build and energy‑saving merits, asynchronous 3‑phase motors support straightforward installation and commissioning. Compatible with multiple types of control systems, they enable customised operation alongside precise adjustment of rotational speed and output torque.

Core Advantages of Asynchronous 3‑Phase Motor

  1. Robust housing: The motor shell is produced from high‑strength cast material with refined craftsmanship. All installation dimensions comply with IEC international standards for cross‑equipment interchangeability.
  2. Stable performance: High efficiency, low noise and minimal vibration. It features long service life, easy upkeep, large torque output, trustworthy running behaviour and excellent starting characteristics.
  3. Broad application scope: Suitable for machine tools, fans, water pumps, compressors, transport facilities, agricultural equipment and general rotating industrial machinery.
  4. Continuous‑duty capability: Permitted for non‑stop continuous operation where ambient temperature does not exceed 40 °C.

Customised variants can be manufactured upon request, including reducer‑dedicated motors, pump‑special motors, double‑shaft‑extension motors and motors with modified mounting configurations.

Structural Characteristics

The Y‑series asynchronous 3‑phase motor frame combines square‑and‑round outer profiles, fitted with vertically‑and‑horizontally‑arranged cooling fins. Most frames adopt cast‑iron construction; models H63‑112 are also available in die‑cast aluminium alloy.

A shallow end‑cover design is implemented, with increased quantity and dimension of internal reinforcing ribs. Cast‑iron material is standard, and H63‑112 units support die‑cast aluminium alternatives. Models H180 and above are fitted with non‑stop re‑oiling fittings for simplified servicing.

Terminal boxes reach IP55 protection class. H63‑280 terminal housings use die‑cast aluminium (cast‑iron option available), while H315‑355 versions use cast iron. Built‑in dedicated earthing terminals are included inside each box. Thermal‑protection mounting provisions are reserved for frame sizes H160 and larger. Cable entry adopts dual‑aperture layout with two sealing forms: sealing cap and lock‑type sealing gland. The terminal box normally sits on the top of the frame and allows multi‑direction cable entry. For cast‑iron‑frame motors H80‑355, side‑mounted terminal‑box arrangement is also achievable.

Application Scenarios

Asynchronous 3‑phase motors drive pumps, machine tools, fans, mills, crushers, rolling mills, compressors and many other types of industrial machinery. They serve multiple sectors of national industry: machine‑tool processing, water pumping, ventilation, compression equipment, mixing devices, printing apparatus and agricultural machinery. They are fit for operating environments free of flammable, explosive or corrosive vapours.

Typical industry coverage includes electric power generation, mining, steel & metallurgy, petrochemical processing, water conservancy works, transportation and building‑materials manufacturing.

Main Production Workflow

Stator manufacturing: Housing machining → sheet stamping → stator core assembly → coil winding → coil forming → varnish impregnation & drying

Rotor manufacturing: Shaft blank processing → core pressing & assembly → rotor aluminium die‑casting → shaft mounting → winding processing → varnish impregnation & drying → dynamic‑balance calibration

Motor final assembly: Stator‑rotor mating assembly → factory performance testing → surface painting → packing & warehousing
